It takes some time since the accident in Tempe for the polls that have seen the light of day since last week to register as the capture of the new correlations in the political scene. However, 17 days after the national tragedy, the change is clear with all party staffs giving their own interpretations and planning their strategy based on the new data.

According to Pulse, which carried out a survey on behalf of SKAI from March 13-15, the fall of New Republic compared to two months ago it reaches 3.5 points. In the intention to vote by recalling the valid ones, the ruling faction registers a percentage of 30%, while at the exact same levels the SYRIZA (26%). PASOK falls by one unit (10%) and KKE remains stable at 6%. At 4%, the strength of the Hellenic Solution is recorded, without change, reinforced by 1% MeRA25 (3.5%). Naturally, the “pie” of undecideds grows by three units.

At this stage the protest vote, the so-called “unsystemic vote” seems to affect the blue faction more by transferring voters either to the “gray zone” or to extra-parliamentary forces. PASOK also appears slightly lost, as a force that has been at the helm of the country for many years, while the official opposition seems to be unaffected. SYRIZA believes that the “dock” theory works. When someone gets off the train, they don’t immediately get on the next one, but wait for some time. That is why, as they argue, they are not worried, that the party does not benefit from the corruption of the government.

It is a fact that in Piraeus Street they were used to having an image of superiority in the opinion polls since 2016. The tragic incident in Tempi “wrinkles” the image for the first time, showing that it is confronted with its evil self. When 57 lives are lost, trust is shaken along with the rule that “the economy decides the elections”. The New Republic was not affected by the precision in the market. The “mess” that dominates the railways proved to be a major blow. In the Pulse measurement, however, it becomes clear that 51% of respondents believe that the Greek governments’ responsibilities are timeless. 28% believe that only the current government is responsible and only 4% SYRIZA.

The parties studying the latest opinion polls have different goals. It is clear from Maximou that they will try to promote the four-year project that was done, which cannot be canceled even by the very bad image of the railways. Today, the increase in the minimum wage is also presented. At the same time, the steps for the quick restart of trains have also been decided. SYRIZA will make a “dive” into the gray zone to collect the departures from New Democracy. It will do the same PASOK which wants to rally the centrist public and appear as a regulator of stability of the political system.

The “key” will once again be abstinence and where it will come from. SYRIZA attempts through the mass demonstrations to talk even more with the youth in which it is leading anyway. According to Pulse, the 17-29 age group, naturally, is more reluctant to go to the polls. 62% and almost certainly 30% said they would vote “for sure”. Therefore, everything is fluid with young people being the regulators of the pre-election game to a large extent.

The infallible indicator of the “performance of victory” remains with a margin in favor of New Democracy, but it is the first time that the majority has lost 10 points. Accordingly, SYRIZA wins three with the final score reading 48%-27%. The aim of the official opposition is to significantly close the “gap” in the specific “psychological index” that captures the environment in which citizens will be led to the polls.
