The New York Times article debunks the government’s narrative, says PASOK in a statement
“The “New York Times” report on the simultaneous surveillance of a Meta (Facebook) executive in Greece through Predator and by the EYP debunks the government’s narrative that the Greek intelligence services are not related to the illegal software”, commented the Press Office of PASOK-KINAL.
He invokes the phrase of the internationally renowned newspaper which, according to the Press Office of PASOK-KINAL, “reveals the works and days of the prime minister’s elect in and around the EYP: The simultaneous monitoring of the target’s phone by the EYP and the way caught show that the spy agency and whoever put the software, known as Predator, were working hand in hand.”
He also emphasizes that “equally, if not more important, are the questions raised about the involvement of the website through which the process was organized and the messages for the mass vaccination of the population for COVID-19 were circulated. Immediate scrutiny and assurance is required that the sensitive personal data of millions of citizens has not become the prey of an illegal panoptical surveillance system under the responsibility of the government.”
