“While borrowers are anxious, Papathanasis owes 1.8 million”, the announcement states
An announcement about the Deputy Minister of Development Nikos Papathanasis was issued by SYRIZA.
In more detail it states:
“While borrowers are anxious, Papathanasis owes 1.8 million and hid his property to avoid confiscation – Does the person convicted of embezzlement remain on the ballots of the Patsido party?”
While thousands of borrowers live every day the anxiety for their first home and adventures with the successive increases in their loan installments, Mr. Mitsotakis’s hardworking ministers provoke with their debts and no one asks them to pay.
As Documento reveals, the Deputy Minister of Development, Mr. Papathanasis, not only owes 1.45 million euros to a bank, but he has been sentenced at first instance for defrauding creditors, because he transferred all of his real estate to his wife and children, in order to not to pay and not to lose his property.
Key questions emerge from the revelations:
• How is it possible that after the court decision there has been no appeal process, nor auction or confiscation?
• The debts of Mr. Papathanasis remain in the bank or have they been sold to a fund and indeed with a State guarantee?
• Does Mr. Papathanasis’ loan remain as it is or was it cut in order not to lose his property?
And finally, a question for Mr. Mitsotakis:
• Will he keep the strategic defaulter Mr. Papathanasis on the ballots of the Patsides party?
