Evangelos Venizelos responds to the reports that want him as the political person proposed by Nikos Androulakis for prime minister in a cooperation government, noting that his intention is to point out the obvious and not to declare “interested”.

In his statement to “Proto Thema”, Mr. Venizelos said:

“The debate about persons that has intensified is essentially a debate about what is intertwined throughout Europe with the parliamentary system of government: cooperative governments and one-party / autonomous governments are two equivalent institutional versions, provided for in all constitutions.

All other issues, including persons, depend on electoral and parliamentary affiliations. Ultimately by the will of the electorate.

It would, I believe, help public debate and common sense if we stopped challenging the obvious. And anyone who points out the obvious as ‘interested’!’
