The right to vote in the national elections on May 21 is given to all expatriate Greeks who submit an application on the digital platform up to twelve days before the official announcement of the elections, which has not yet happened.
The platform is still open for them expatriate Greeks to vote for the first time from their place of residence after the new legislative framework.
Those interested can immediately proceed with the necessary procedures, as the countdown to the May 21 national elections has already begun.
All expatriate Greeks who submit an application on the digital platform have the right to vote in the May 21 national elections up to twelve days before the official announcement of the electionswhich has not yet happened.
If, for example, the elections are officially announced on April 24th and the Presidential Decree dissolving the Parliament is sealed in the Parliament on the same day, this means that the process of registration in the special electoral lists for the vote of emigrants will “run” at least until April 12th .
In the event, however, that applications are submitted after the twelve days between the official announcement of the elections, then they will establish the right to vote remotely in the next election and not in the one on May 21.
The conditions
It should be noted that Greek citizens who:
- They have the right to vote
- They are already registered in the electoral rolls
- They are registered in the special foreign electoral rolls
Register on the platform
In particular, for the registration of those interested in the special electoral lists of foreign voters, they should:
- have lived in Greece for a total of 2 years, in the last 35 years from the date of submission of the application
- have submitted a tax return in the current or previous tax year
