“In today’s publication, Political newspaper reveals that the MP and Head of Transparency of SYRIZA, G. Ragousis, built a villa with a housing loan from the Workers’ Housing Organization, which concerns beneficiaries with great social needs, for which he even secured a 40% discount on the repayment of the non-due amount” says Nea Dimokratia in a statement.

The questions for Mr. Ragousi are relentless:

  • Mr. Ragousis declares that the house in question is a permanent residence and on the other hand at the same time claims that with this income his children live decently. After all, is it a permanent residence or does he use it commercially?
  • How much does he collect from the development of this property?
  • Where and how does said revenue appear in his account?
  • How legal and ethical is it for Mr. Ragousis to utilize resources intended for our weak fellow citizens in order to build a villa which he exploits financially as a super-luxury tourist accommodation?

“We await the answers of SYRIZA and Mr. Ragousis, who otherwise becomes a preacher of the ‘moral advantage’,” ND reports.

“In a normal party the Head of Transparency would have already resigned. In SYRIZA, it’s just Wednesday,” concludes Piraeus.

Speaking this morning to ANT1, Mr. Ragousis said that this is his “personal permanent residence” and “it is not a villa”.

As Yannis Ragousis said, his ex-wife and mother of his three children was entitled to receive this loan.

“I am proud because by renting this house I have managed to live with dignity for my children”, he emphasized and mentioned that “what we are discussing is a loan of a mother of three children that was taken in 2007 when the government was ND”.
