The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, hosted a lunch for the 48 residents of Gavdos, expressing her joy for her presence, on the day of the Epiphany, on the island of Akriti, the southernmost tip of Greece and Europe.

There she was welcomed by the rector of the Technical University of Crete Evangelos Diamantopoulos and the vice-rectors Michalis Zervakis and Michalis Lagoudakis. The PD was guided by Professor Stavros Mertika of the School of Mineral Resources Engineering of the Technical University of Crete.
