The prime minister was in Gerakas a little earlier – The contract for the extension of the fence to the Evros is signed tomorrow – The fence will be finished with or without European money
The prime minister reiterated his government’s decision to expand and complete the fence on the Evros with or without European funds Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Addressing citizens in Gerakas, he made a special reference to his visit tomorrow, Friday in Evros where, as he said, “I will have the opportunity to sign the expansion of the project of the fence that shielded the Evros and the homeland from illegal immigration invasions”.
On the occasion of the amendment promoted by the SYRIZA MEP, Dimitris Papadimoulis, to block the European financing of the project, Kyriakos Mitsotakis said “I want to remind who are the ones who supported it and who are still facing this difficult effort for the country to secure its borders. Just yesterday a SYRIZA MEP supported an amendment asking Europe not to finance the Evros project. There is no need for condemnation, but judgment.”
The prime minister addressed citizens in Gerakas and then headed to Nea Makri for the inauguration of the Fire Brigade Training Center, donated by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
In his speech to the gathered citizens, the Prime Minister emphasized that “on May 21 we are voting for the Greece we deserve, firmly, boldly, forward with the New Democracy strong. Self-reliant New Democracy, self-reliant Greece”.
