The Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, met today at Megaros Maximos, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Development & Investments, Member of Parliament for Corinth, Christos Dimas, with the founders of startup AugmentaGiorgos Varvarelis and Dimitris Evaggelopoulos.

The company, which was founded a few years ago in Volos by two young electrical engineering graduates and farmers from Volos, specializes in the production of innovative products/services and technological solutions around crop management and farm analysis for farmers. It includes a system installed on the roof of agricultural vehicles, which uses cameras to scan the field during operations. This information is then used to apply real-time ingredients such as fertilizer and plant growth regulators.

A few days ago they announced that they are joining forces with one of the leading agricultural vehicle manufacturers worldwide, CNH Industrial. This agreement is one of the largest in the history of Greek start-ups, as it is estimated that the money that the international giant will invest in Augmenta exceeds 100 million euros. This is another great success story evolving and emerging from the Greek innovation ecosystem.

The agreement with CNH Industrial accelerates its growth and provides a unique opportunity to expand its state-of-the-art sensing and automation capabilities to the global market.

At the heart of today’s discussion at Maximos Palace the course of the company, the connection of agricultural production with innovation, the assistance of Elevate Greece, the developments in the innovation ecosystem in recent years and the business talents available to the company in Greece were discussed.

It is recalled that in 2021, at the first National Young Entrepreneurship Awards of Elevate Greece, Augmenta won the “Environmental Impact Award”.
