Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu gave an interview to Milliyet in which he spoke about Turkey’s foreign policy issues.

As SKAI correspondent Manolis Kostidis reports from Istanbulspeaking first about the F-16s and the US refusal to agree, Cavusoglu stressed that “the best way for the F-16s is to bypass Congress”, which seems impossible to do anyway.

“There are many years of problems with Greece that we cannot agree on or resolve”

At the same time, in his interview, Cavusoglu, speaking about Greek-Turkish relations, emphasized:

“We achieved a positive climate with Greece. In order for the positive atmosphere to be permanent, steps that increase the tension should be avoided. There are problems of many years that we cannot agree, compromise or resolve. There should be an honest working environment to resolve them. These consultations should now be results-oriented.

»The problems were identified. It is necessary to work to solve these problems. The second issue, of course, is the Cyprus issue. It is always a cause of tension both the lack of fair distribution of the hydrocarbon wealth around Cyprus, the lack of fair distribution of the revenues of this wealth, as well as the activities that take place there from time to time but also the granting of research permits as well as the failure to find permanent solution in Cyprus.
