“I will not indicate who will be the next prime minister” he emphasized and explained that “the prime minister and the ministers should be widely accepted”
The problems that the country has to solve are the result of the policies of Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Tsipras, the President of PASOK – KINAL, Nikos Androulakis, said in his morning interview.
Asked about the reactions caused by his position of not being the next prime minister, neither Mitsotakis, nor Tsipras, in a possible cooperation government, he told ANT1 that “I will not indicate who the next prime minister will be” and explained that “the prime minister and the ministers should be widely accepted”.
“This country has problems that we need to solve and most of them are the result of the policies and choices made by Mitsotakis and Tsipras as prime ministers.”
He added that if there is instability, the one who will be responsible is the one who “puts his chair above everything and not the good of the country”. He also accused Mr. Mitsotakis of playing games with the first Sunday of the elections by going to second elections from now on, which is unconstitutional.
“We are a party that suffered and learned, while our opponents are unrepentant”, emphasized Mr. Androulakis.
When asked about PASOK’s electoral weight, he spoke of a much higher percentage than it had in the previous elections, characteristically stating, “a strong double-digit percentage”.
Answering the question of what he will do, if PASOK does not manage to have a double-digit percentage, he answered: “For me, my goal is what I found to take it further. If I see that I have not succeeded, I will obviously put myself in any evaluation, as I am evaluated, all the executives of our party are evaluated”.
Returning to the issue of the next prime minister, he clarified that he will not nominate him, but he will be a person of general acceptance.
When asked if there is an internal party problem with Mr. Loverdos, he replied that he has already been appointed and remarked that, “anyone who does not serve our collective goals, apologizes to the leaders of the faction.”
He then referred to some of the key points of PASOK’s programmatic positions, in which there should be programmatic convergence in case of collaborations, such as: universal protection of the first home, 120 installments for everyone for debts to the Tax Office and EFKA, with a haircut for the consistent, while he said “yes” to the fence in the Evros, with a simultaneous change of the Dublin Treaty.
Regarding the wiretapping, he said that “Mitsotakis and Maximos’ system played a leading role in the wiretapping, but also because immediately afterwards they set up a mechanism to cover up their responsibilities”. At the same time, he accused SYRIZA of “utilizing the case”.
To a question about whether he could participate in a government of progressive forces with the participation of Mr. Varoufakis, he replied that “PASOK would not be able to coexist with parties that at critical moments were pushing Greece out of the European family.”
“Mitsotakis is not a liberal and Tsipras is not a representative of the European Ariatera”, Mr. Androulakis emphasized and appeared in favor of simple proportionality as an electoral system.
