In the near future, we expect positive developments on some issuessuch as the extension of the duration of the moratorium which provides for the avoidance of exercises in the international waters and in the airspace of the Aegean between June 15 and September 15 when there is a lot of tourism, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar emphasized on Friday.

“Of course, we have to solve some of our existing problems. We hope that these problems, Greece and Turkey, as two civilized countries, can solve them within the framework of good neighborly relations, international law in a peaceful way, in accordance with the spirit of the alliance, with dialogue and with mutual respect” said the Hulusi Akar, asked about the visit of the Greek counterpart of Nikos Panagiotopoulos to the earthquake affected regions of Turkey.

“Is important to continue the positive and constructive climate that formed after the earthquakes. Our work and talks on this matter continue,” the Turkish minister noted according to Anatoli news agency.

Akar noted that “it is important to keep the gates of dialogue open. Our wish is that the Aegean and the Mediterranean will truly become seas of friendship with the creation of a permanent environment of cooperation”.
