Alexis Tsipras in his recent interview with “Kathimerini tis Kyriaki” was clear in relation to the post-election collaborations he “allows” for SYRIZA. “Our proposal does not exclude anyone, apart from ND, Mr. Velopoulos and of course Akrodexia”, he emphasized, sending a message to Yanis Varoufakis about the new landscape that may form after May 21.
The tendencies in SYRIZA may have died down and everyone is faithfully following the president’s line, but there are quite a few executives of the “presidential” bloc who, even in their public positions, do not see a partnership with MeRA25 positively. For the majority, the exit of the head of MeRA25 from the party in 2015 is irreversible.
The orientation he has followed, as well as what he has attributed to SYRIZA, cannot simply be overcome. PASOK has also entered the “equation” and has ruled out cooperation with the former finance minister. They argue, after all, that in the event that SYRIZA is the first party, they have no reason to turn to Yanis Varoufakis and complicate things.
As we get closer to the polls, the “gap” between SYRIZA and MeRA25 deepens. Mr. Varoufakis’ party responded to Alexis Tsipras that “the one who ignores the popular will and refuses, even today, to commit to really fighting the memorandum policy, is SYRIZA-PS. On the contrary, the vote for MERA25-Alliance for A break is an explicit, conscious popular mandate to end the looting. This vote we pledge not to ignore, regardless of Mr. Tsipras’ blackmail. It is sad the level to which the leader of the official opposition has fallen in order to convince the Greek people of need for a new memorandum of governance of his party”.
What do they support in SYRIZA? How all these “crowns” are pre-election rhetoric that is considered normal, as each party wishes to entrench its own space. They support the same for PASOK and choose, as much as possible, not to respond to the challenges of Harilaou Trikoupis. They argue that between the pre-election tactics and the post-election movements, the elections intervene and that the people’s vote determines the data, correlations and developments.
The Left Wing of Koumoundourou has from the beginning positioned itself in favor of a possible cooperation with MeRA25, as it will help to form a Left Progressive Democratic government. They agree with the line given by the president, considering that in this way they continue to show that the party has not cut ties with the more radical audience that supported it twice in 2015.
