With a warm handshake at the threshold of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ten minutes after 2:30 p.m., the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece Nikos Dendias and Egypt’s Sameh Soukry began.

The two foreign ministers are currently having a private meeting at the office of Nikos Dendias, after which extended talks will take place between the two delegations.

Discussions are expected to focus on further strengthening the two countries’ strategic relations in a wide range of areas, such as the economy, investment, energy and tackling climate change. At the same time, they are expected to cover international and regional developments of mutual interest, including developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya and the Middle East, European Union-Egypt relations, as well as regional cooperation schemes.

Joint statements to the press are expected from minute to minute.

Immediately after, Sameh Soukri, accompanied by Nikos Dendias, will go to Megaros Maximos, where he will meet at 16:00 with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
