SYRIZA has always been against fascism and one of the biggest lies is that it did not separate its position from Golden Dawn, pointed out the party representative, Popi Tsapanidou, speaking today on the Today show, on SKAI, while noting that from the beginning the SYRIZA said that the government’s proposal to block Kasidiari’s party would fail.

Responding to the criticism received by the main opposition party for the stance it took yesterday during the vote on the amendment, Mrs. Tsapanidou emphasized that “when the issue of the block that should be set up against the fascists came up two months ago, SYRIZA had make it clear that the aim is to stop any such attempt and we put down our own attempt, with the Alivizatu amendment. There was no willingness to negotiate there either, and the government issued its own provision, which we warned was dangerous, leaving many loopholes.”

To the criticism that Mr. Alivizatos said that it was not his proposal, Ms. Tsapanidou replied that it was Mr. Alivizatos and that SYRIZA tabled it as a basis for discussion, with the aim of leaving the fascists in prison.

Responding to the comments that ND and PASOK blocked the Golden Dawn, he emphasized that for years before the trial, the ACA was out there breaking heads and killing people.

And he continued: “ND did it belatedly to put the gold diggers in prison. They were forced to move when the knot came to an end with the murder of Fyssa. Then we forced them to consolidate the case files, since there was pressure on Antonis Samaras and it happened that some Jewish cemeteries were desecrated.”

He commented on the block amendment: “We were shouting that it was very dangerous and that it could fall into a constitutional wall. We are all facing the Golden Dawn. When we shouted about the amendment that it was not correct, were we justified or not? Why did the third amendment have to come just before the election? What business did Mr. Gerapetritis have drinking coffee with the supreme judge who happens to be the head of the department that will judge the matter? The answer given by the government was that these are procedural issues. Are you satisfied with this answer? When we have a government minister drinking coffee with the competent judge and the head of the department that will judge the case resigns and the composition is split, did they hear something they didn’t like?”

And he continued: “Meetings between ministers and judges are institutionally held only by the Minister of Justice, he is the one in charge, he must announce that a meeting is imminent and not in a coffee shop.”

Asked about the criticism leveled at the program announced by SYRIZA, Mrs. Tsapanidou replied that the program is priced, hits the spot and can be implemented quickly.

He noted that the interventions will be carried out simultaneously and that they are interventions that the budget can withstand.

When asked how much the SYRIZA program costs, he replied: “In total, our program costs 5.5 to 6 billion euros a year. By cutting only direct assignments and photo contests, we save 8.5 billion. That’s how much the Mitsotakis government gave, we experienced it first hand.”

For the eventuality of one debate he said: “We asked for Mr. Mitsotakis to come alone. Really, why isn’t he coming? Why does he avoid it? The act has proved it. Not even in the Parliament did he do well to answer Mr. Tsipras.”

Mrs. Tsapanidou concluded: “We will see on May 21 if we are first. We are part of the world. We try to provide solutions. Is it possible to say that we are having a good time because people leave for Easter? Do we doubt that people are having a hard time? That solutions are needed? Solutions will be provided by someone who feels the world’s problems”.
