“The government is a government of values and it is not going to make any concessions,” said the Minister of State, responsible for Transport and Infrastructure issues
“There is absolutely no exchange, there is no haggling. The government is a government of values and it is not going to make any concessions”, the Minister of State responsible for Transport and Infrastructure, Giorgos Gerapetritis, said in his statements from Heraklion where he is for the official presentation of the ND ballot.
Mr. Gerapetritis, in a question from journalists about the resigned vice-president of the Supreme Court Christos Tzanerikos, said in particular: “of course I had extensive consultation with the leadership of the Supreme Court and with the president and the vice-president, Mr. Tzanerikos, in the context of the provisions and as far as the procedural issues are concerned, however, there was absolutely no discussion about those that are mentioned”.
He added that it is important for the country “to be able to continue its democratic path and formations which are anti-democratic, fascist, should stay out of the political scene and this should be the pursuit of all of us”.
Earlier in the morning, Mr. Gerapetritis had a meeting with the mayor of Heraklion and the regional governor focusing on the development of the major projects on the island, which as he said “will change Crete for the next decades” and that these infrastructures “will upgrade the island, so that it can be a cultural product not only for tourism, but mainly for the everyday life of the people they serve”.
Yesterday, Mr. Gerapetritis had contacts at the Research Technology Foundation which, as he emphasized, “highlights the extroversion of the Greek university and research community”.
Regarding the New Democracy ballot in Heraklion, he emphasized that it is a renewal ballot, with young people who come from society, have emerged through their trial work, a representative ballot, insofar as it highlights all layers, all the professional backgrounds, with significant participation of women” and that “this ballot will give good results for Crete, New Democracy, but also for the country for the upgrading of the political staff”.
