“In today’s world of great changes and constant challenges, the Resurrection of the God-Man signifies more than ever hope, salvation, life itself”, says the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis, in his message to the Hellenic diaspora for the holiday Easter’s.

“Man, participating reverently in the Week of the Passion, symbolically experiences the journey from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection and becomes a sharer of the redemptive power of the Holy and Eternal Light”, he notes and adds: “Holy Easter, the most brilliant holiday of Orthodoxy, is a prime moment for the Greek Orthodox tradition, which we Greeks honor wherever we are”.

Mr. Katsaniotis emphasizes that “faith – whether as everyone’s relationship with the Divine or as the set of universal values that guide our lives – is based on the hope for a better world. And reality may still be far from this belief, but we continue to envision and work for a fairer and more optimistic tomorrow.”

As he points out, Greek women and men abroad are “companions” on this journey.

“You preserve and highlight our morals and customs, our language, our Greek Orthodox faith. You, who experience the Holy Days far from the Homeland, are the ones who convey to the whole world, regardless of races, nationalities and borders, the glory of God and the faith of the people”, underlines the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

But Easter, he adds, “is also a family celebration, a celebration that we share with relatives and friends, having the rare opportunity to renew our bonds and confirm our relationships. As you will come close to loved ones, so we, through this joyous occasion, feel that we are coming close to you again.”

“On Great Saturday, the work of the Divine Economy is completed with the resurrection of the God-man”, he states and notes: “The Holy Light, which I have the honor to receive as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from the hands of the Blessed Patriarch of Jerusalem, testifies to the victory of Christ over of the last enemy”.

“Orthodox Easter, this called and holy day, the feast of feasts and Feast of Feasts, as mentioned by the resurrected Order, is celebrated with splendor throughout the earth,” concludes Mr. Katsaniotis.
