The Minister of Labor also emphasized that the three-year terms will be unfrozen in the next four years
“We are half a step before the investment stage. The S&P report reports significant progress in the Greek economy on many levels, but notes that much will depend on political stability after the elections. The economy does not go on autopilot. The report says that you have made great progress, the sacrifices of so many years have paid off, Greece is developing, but things will not happen by themselves, they will happen depending on the choices you make,” Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis told SKAI.
Mr. Hatzidakis gave a brief account of the Ministry of Labor, pointing out, among other things, that “unemployment fell from 17.5% to 11.4%.” 300,000 additional jobless and neoliberal jobs were created. The minimum wage, from 650 euros, rose 20% to 780 euros. Taking into account the purchasing power of the salary, we are 13th out of 22 in the EU. The same happened with pensions. On the one hand, many injustices of the Katrougalos Law were corrected, the insured with 30 years received increases from 2020″.
“For the next four years, we estimate a cumulative 25% increase in wages, which will be based on the growth of the economy. There is the thawing of the three years as unemployment is estimated to fall below 10%. And of course, all this will happen with a serious government, it won’t happen on autopilot,” he added.
On the occasion of what Kyriakos Mitsotakis will announce on Wednesday, Mr. Hatzidakis noted: “Obviously there is a ND program for the insurance for the next four years. One section has to do with the further modernization of EFKA, because, as he pointed out, “with the integrated IT system where the 88 databases become one, the daily life of both employees and pensioners changes. ND will continue to support pensioners.”
“The ND will say less than what SYRIZA says and what the other parties say, but what the ND says happens. The others talk about a social policy, we implement a social policy in practice”, he added.
