“It is our duty to protect the climate so that both societies can express their opinion without the fear of an incident”, stressed the Minister of Foreign Affairs
“I always watch developments in Greek-Turkish with great attention. Greece is not naive either, it needs a lot of attention. We will see after the elections if Turkish politics will continue the honeymoon we are living now or if it will reverse course to the more usual ones. We are watching it very carefully. It is our duty to protect the climate so that both societies can express their opinion without fear of incident. The next governments that will emerge from the elections – we hope that it will be the ND – should manage the issue of whether there is any hope of a solution to the Greek-Turkish dispute”, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said to SKAI and the program “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias .
“The country is moving in a different context than a few years ago,” Mr. Dendias emphasized, noting that “there was a broader national understanding of the basic lines of our foreign policy. During these 4 years during the Mitsotakis government, the parties were constantly informed by me, by order of the Prime Minister, and a broader understanding of where the country should go. It’s important to be single.”
Referring to the case of the Evros fence, the foreign minister pointed out “indeed, SYRIZA put forward what I had said in 2018. I do not retract anything from what I had said, but from 2018 to 2022 there is an intermediate station, 2020. Whoever he saw what happened in 2020 with immigration, not as immigration but as a weapon against Europe and the country, he understands that there is a different priority”.
Finally, referring to the financial data, such as the increase in GDP, the reduction of the debt and the primary surplus, Nikos Dendias spoke of successful financial management.
