Olympiacos and Panathinaikos for qualification, PAOK and AEK for their lives

by

In “Melina Merkouri” at Renti and in its closed Saint Thomas the semifinals of the Women’s Volleyball League between Olympiakos and PAOK and Panathinaikos and AEK are being moved.

In the first time semi-final, Olympiacos with a great performance made the break in Thessaloniki with 3-2 sets in the first game of the two teams and needs another one to get the ticket for the finals of the championship. If PAOK manages to break Olympiakos’ headquarters in turn, the ticket to the finals will be decided at the PAOK Sports Arena on Wednesday, April 26.

“The second game will be different from the first. We approach it differently, we have new motivations. And the situations are not the same as in Thessaloniki. Our goal, however, is to play volleyball at a good level. We believe that it is more important to be focused on the now, the present, tomorrow’s match and not… fly away. It will be very difficult for both teams, we want to go to the finals. PAOK will come to bring the series to a third game. However, we are ready for this challenge. We are ready for the match! We are Olympiacos” said the Italian coach of Olympiakos Lorenzo Micelliwhile his compatriot PAOK coach Marco Fenolio he said:

“It’s another important game. As I have said before, we are two teams that play at the same level. The second game is without tomorrow, and we want the win to bring the series back to Palataki. We will try our best to get the victory.”

On Saturday night, the second derby of the semi-finals between Panathinaikos and AEK will be held at the indoor stadium of Agios Thomas.

Panathinaikos, after three consecutive defeats by the Union in the league (regular season) and cup (final), managed to celebrate its first victory of the year against AEK, even making the break with a 3-1 set in New Philadelphia.

The Greens need a win at home to qualify for the Women’s Volleyball League finals and try to retain the title they won last year. On the contrary, in order to qualify, the “yellow and black” will need to win in Maroussi and then prevail in the third game in New Philadelphia.

“We took the first step. We performed as we should and got the victory against a very strong team like AEK. Tomorrow, however, is a different game and we will have to present ourselves with the same dynamic to be able to go to the finals of the championship” the American winger of Panathinaikos said about the match Andora Anaewhile the passer of AEK Panagiota Xanthopoulou pointed out:

“Tomorrow’s game is so far the most difficult of the year and in a very difficult venue. We are ready for this, we will give everything we have and we will fight for a third match in our stadium and in front of our people who are always present”.
