“THE decision of the A1 Department of the Supreme Court to excluded from the upcoming elections the party of the person convicted of running a criminal organization Ilias Kasidiaris is a complete vindication of the government, which was the first to step up and take the necessary initiatives to keep the enemies of the Republic out of the Parliament”, the Minister of State and Government Spokesman says in a statement, Akis Schertsos.

“The Supreme Court solemnly ruled that criminal organizations wrapped in the mantle of a political party cannot be tolerated in the electoral process. This is the duty of all of us to protect the Republic. The 300-page memorandum that we submitted to the Supreme Court, along with audio-visual material that proves the actions of Ilias Kasidiaris as the real leader of the party, also contributed to today’s historic decision. Unfortunately, even at this prime moment of the Republic’s self-defense against its detractors, they were absent political forces of the left who declare that they are against fascism. SYRIZA and MeRA25 walked together on the path of bilingualism and hypocrisy, abstaining from both the passing of the crucial provisions and the filing of a relevant memorandum. Half-heartedly and with many “yes buts” they chose to “fish” in murky waters, but their goals are crystal clear for the citizens. We are all judged not only by what we say but mainly by what we do. And we did, as we had to, our duty towards the Republic”, he states characteristically.
