The mystery begins to unravel around the bodies of seven people – which included two missing teenage girls and a man convicted of raping – found near a home in the town of Enrietta, Oklahoma.

The circumstances under which the tragedy unfolded are still unknown, but the two young girls were wanted by police who believed they were at the home of 39-year-old Jesse McFadden. McFadden was convicted of rape in 2003 and was due to appear in court on Monday in another case, accused for possession of child pornography and attempted sexual intercourse with a minor. But he never went to court.

The bodies have not yet been officially identified. They are believed to include the two teenage girls, aged 14 and 16, and McFadden himself.

“We think we found who we were looking for this morning,” said Okmalji County Sheriff Eddie Rice, speaking of “tragedy”.

One woman, Janet Magio, reported on Facebook that her daughter and three grandchildren were also among the victims. Her daughter was married to McFadden, whom Megio called a “monster.” “My daughter loved her children and, yes, she married the man who killed them, but she was seduced by his charms,” she wrote in her post.

The two missing teenagers, Ivy Webster and Brittany Brewer, were friends with one of McFadden’s ancestors and had gone to spend the night at the family’s home, according to Fox 23. The girl’s father, Nathan Brewer, confirmed to local channel KOTV that his daughter is dead. “Brittany was very outgoing,” he said, adding that she was soon to compete in local beauty pageants. “And now, she never will, because she’s dead. Left”.
