The new series of pre-election spots for the May 21 elections was released by SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. These are 4 spots with different themes, which take place in a jungle environment. Society sinking into the swamp, youth participation in elections, nepotism in politics and the wiretapping scandal are in focus. By choosing the jungle as an environment, they highlight the complete lack of rules and protection of citizens against economic problems and the violation of their individual rights. At the same time, they emphasize the need for this “jungle” regime not to be consolidated as normality in everyday life.

– In the first spot, the two protagonists sink into a swamp telling each other that “everything is going well”. In this way, the ND’s attempt to present a beautified image of everyday life, in the economy, at work, in society, is affected, but which has nothing to do with reality. The spot ends with the title “Let’s believe that the swamp is normality. That’s what they want.”

– In the second spot, a young couple imprisoned in a grid discuss the elections and whether they will vote. “Will you vote? No. Since everyone is the same” the protagonists can be heard saying to each other. Here the climate of resignation, indifference and abstinence that ND tries to pass on to young people is emphasized. The spot ends with the title “Don’t vote. To believe that your prison is your freedom. That’s what they want.”

– In the third spot, the same couple watches a television series about royalty. From their dialogue, the issue of nepotism and arrogance in governance is raised, as these have been prominently highlighted in the last four years in Greece by the Mitsotakis government. The spot ends with the title “Let’s believe that the country belongs to them. That’s what they want.”

– In the fourth spot, the two protagonists sit nonchalantly on a bench and discuss the wiretapping scandal, telling each other that it’s not important and that it probably doesn’t concern them. At the same time, however, they themselves are victims of surveillance. The spot ends with the title “Let’s believe that the parastatal is normality. That’s what they want.”

All 4 spots close with the slogan “So far. On May 21 we are voting for SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. Justice Everywhere”.
