“We have to keep a small basket for Tsipras’s 11 points for progressive governance, since all of these are subject to a number of conditions. […] He is talking about a progressive mufa government,” he said
The General Secretary of the KKE launched a scathing criticism of SYRIZA and Alexis Tsipras, speaking to ANT1 about a “muff” progressive government.
In more detail, speaking on the program “Morning Greece”, Mr. Koutsoumbas pointed out that one should keep a small basket, listening to the 11-point program presented by Alexis Tsipras, as “all this is subject to a series of conditions”.
“We have to keep small calnot for Tsipras’s 11 points for progressive governance, since all of these are subject to a number of conditions. […] We are talking about a pre-election progressive muff government,” he said.
As he pointed out, the KKE is not pushing, on the contrary, the one who is pushing to get voters is the president of SYRIZA.
Asked to comment on the Tsipras or Mitsotakis dilemma, he argued that in basic matters both are the same.
“SYRIZA voted for 50% of the laws that the Mitsotakis Government brought to Parliament the previous 4 years, PASOK voted for over 70%.
Since they find it in these, why can’t they find it in others and form a government so that the country avoids double elections and all that they say?
I believe that on May 22, a government of cooperation can be formed between the first and the third, fourth and whoever else. There is no reason for the people to suffer, for the country to suffer and for us to go to new elections in July, anyway in July it seems that there will be a government of cooperation”.
“Wrong handling”
Referring to the Supreme Court’s “blockade” in the Kasidiaris case, Mr. Koutsoubas pointed out that there was a wrong handling.
“Too much time was wasted on the Golden Dawn trial. We’re talking about a problem that could be solved: a criminal Nazi who leads a party with another name, not the Golden Dawn, so the problem would be solved, under the law.
[…] He is immediately released from prison so that Kasidiaris can be promoted. This specific amendment makes unacceptable generalizations that should not exist. It may also touch the KKE in the future.
Some EU member states are already doing this, talking about equating Nazism and Communism if possible.
[…] These (s.s. Thanos Tzimeros and Failos Kranidiotis) graphic types are not graphic at all, because they write mortgages for the future.
Tomorrow another government and another composition of court he can set his sights on the KKE”he said.
“Minimum salary at 850 euros”
Asked to comment on the KKE’s position on the minimum wage, he noted that in order to live decently, it should start at 850 and reach 930 euros over three years.
“Minimum wage in order to be decent and for a person to be able to live his family, the National General Collective Labor Agreement needs to be reinstated now, which starts with a minimum wage of 850 and reinstatement of three years and benefits, so that an employee with three years to reach 930 euros”, he added.
As for the debate and the electoral goal of the KKE, he said:
“The people, with 15 MPs, saw us fighting in the Parliament, with revelations, and of course leaders in the struggles, where there is the fear of people losing their homes.
This is the criterion for those who choose us. That we will be in the opposition and we will be militant, we are not going to participate in a cooperation government.
[…] We proposed that there should be a free discussion between journalists and political leaders, so that they could talk and answer each other. We wonder at the level of political leaders, there cannot be a civilized dialogue”.
