The assessment that on May 21, the stake is not whether PASOK will become a bigger party, but whether every democrat and progressive citizen will find his home again, expressed the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, speaking tonight in Kalamata

“On May 21, the stake is not whether PASOK becomes a bigger party, but whether every democrat and progressive citizen finds his home again. The home of democracy, respect for human rights, prosperity and progress of the Greek people. This house sealed the post-colonial years, which created the National Health System, the strong public Education, which gave possibilities to the child of the farmer and the breeder and united the Greeks” pointed out Mr. Androulakis.

Referring to the discussion on partnerships, the President of PASOK-Movement for Change emphasized that 85% of European countries have cooperative governments.

“Collaborative governments are not about dividing ministries, general secretaries and agency managers. These are programmatic convergences, persons of common acceptance, persons who can serve these collaborations. As a European Social Democrat, I believe that this way of exercising power helps transparency and creates institutional counterweights. We do not have a prime minister who is capable of everything. From sending the country out of the European Union to setting up parastate wiretapping, influencing the Justice Department, distributing the Recovery Fund projects to the oligarchs. There are internal counterweights due to program convergences and personalitiesnoted Mr. Androulakis and added:

“However, they remain only in the face of the prime minister. And why do they only stay there? Because this is their personal anguish. Neither Mr. Tsipras nor Mr. Mitsotakis is interested in the future of Greece. The future of the chair interests them. Obviously a party will not impose the faces. It will be generally accepted. I do not aspire to impose on any person. And if they want a reason why we don’t recommend them, it’s because they were judged. They are the protagonists of the problems facing the country from the bankruptcy of Karamanlis onwards. They never gave consent, never gave a helping hand. They never spoke the word of realism, consistency, responsibility. The only thing they were interested in was gaining power with the “Zappias”, with the “Thessaloniki programs” and all these incredible mockeries which they then called delusions in order to throw the responsibility of the problems off them.».

“Here, Mr. Mitsotakis cannot co-govern with his own party, will he co-govern with PASOK? Let’s finally be honest. Mr. Mitsotakis does not co-govern with the ND. He has built a company in Maximos, he has also given the most critical ministries to the “orphans” of Karatzaferis – but otherwise he is supposedly liberal – and he is managing the entire state alone with his nephew until recently. And this man has the culture of cooperation? No culture. I want the centrist voter to understand this. With a strong PASOK we will have stability. With a strong right we will have an authoritarian perception at the expense of the public interest that will make the state a spoil of power for Mr. Mitsotakis’ cronies, just as Mr. Tsipras did in the past with Kammenossaid Mr. Androulakis.

Commenting on the reports of Alexis Tsipras about the historical Founder of PASOK, Andreas Papandreou, Mr. Androulakis characteristically noted:Let’s tell the truth. Who is closest to Andreas Papandreou? The leader of the party that Andreas Papandreou founded or the leader of the party that took him to the Special Court and tried to imprison him? Who organized his personal extermination together with the New Republic of Konstantinos Mitsotakis. Mr. Tsipras has a talent for forgery, distortion. We measure the criteria and level of political morality very differently».

A few hours after the presentation of the 12 programmatic priorities of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis focused on the party’s plan for the regeneration of the National Social Security System, the protection of borrowers’ first homes, dealing with private debt and investment in education .
