The 22,855 registered Greek voters residing outside the Greek Territory will vote in 99 polling stations set up in 35 countries.
The Saturday, Greek men and women will go to the polls on May 20 foreign to exercise their right to vote in the 2023 General Parliamentary Elections.
Greek voters residing outside the Greek Territory will have for first time the possibility to vote from their place of residence abroad, if they so chose, instead of going to Greece (Article 2 of Law 4648/2019).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, which is responsible for the conduct of the parliamentary elections, assists with the continuous synergy of the relevant Greek Diplomatic and Consular Missions in the preparation of the electoral process and the operation of the electoral divisions around the world, important and a number of them will be accommodated in Embassies and in general areas of Greek Foreign Authorities.
Those registered in Special Electoral Rolls Abroad 22,855 Greek voters residing outside the Greek Territory, whose registration applications were approved by the Ministry of the Interior in accordance with the voter criteria provided for by law, as well as Greek sailors who have not been included in the electoral rolls (Article 6 of Law 4648/2019) , they will vote in 99 polling stations which were constituted in 35 countries.
For the establishment of a polling station in a city, a condition was the registration of at least 40 voters (Article 7 of Law 4648/2019).
All Greek registered voters abroad are invited:
• To exercise their right to vote on Saturday, May 20, 2023, with voting time from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time of each country.
• To confirm that they are included in the overseas electoral rolls and to be informed of the exact address of the polling station in which they are voting by using, before voting, the LEARN HOW TO VOTE application on the website of the MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR, https://mpp.ypes.gov .gr/#/ by filling in the fields Surname, First Name, Father’s Name, Year of Birth.
• They must come to their polling station with their Greek police ID or Greek passport (the Electoral Commission confirms the identity / passport details and verifies their registration in the special foreign electoral lists).
In order to further inform and facilitate the electors, the relevant Greek Embassies and Consular Authorities will communicate, by May 14, 2023, as provided for, by any suitable means, the Election Program with the names of the candidates for regional parliaments declared by the A1 Department of the Supreme Court for the General Parliamentary Elections 2023, as well as the detailed table of the electoral divisions abroad with the addresses of the polling stations.
