Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis toured Kypseli on Saturday morning, May 13, 2023, shortly before the May 21 polls.

“Growth did not come by overtaxing the middle class and crushing pensioners. It came with tax cuts, pension increases, with contribution cuts. We fully implemented our pre-election program despite the great difficulties,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“Today, we have every reason to be optimistic, to be able to look to the future with more confidence,” added the Prime Minister.

He also called on those gathered “not to spend ourselves in costly disputes with our political opponents but to talk to the citizens about our own plan for the next day, for the future of our country. I believe that our opponents have also probably discounted the election result.”

Referring to the Prorata poll, Mr. Mitsotakis commented: “An opposition newspaper came out with the headline that 53% do not want a second Mitsotakis term. So 47% want to. I see us for self-reliance since the first Sunday, and they themselves confess it. The blue current that I see rekindling throughout the country, I am sure will find its expression in Athens as well”.
