The president of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, launched a direct and intense attack on K. Mitsotakis from Chania this evening. He accused him that the goal is not to strengthen PASOK-KINAL in order to have a privileged opponent of Alexis Tsipras and SYRIZA.

“His anxiety is only one: That the Democratic Party and PASOK are not reborn, because he knows well who is the opponent of New Democracy. He is also well aware that if Mr. Tsipras was not an official opposition, his government would already be a thing of the past under the weight of the scandals of the last months. The only thing that keeps him standing is the opposition of SYRIZA, an opposition without ballast,” noted Mr. Androulakis.

The president of PASOK-Movement of Change emphasized that during his election to the leadership of the party, he pledged that he would not be a crutch. “PASOK has returned as a protagonist. I understand that Mr. Mitsotakis wanted another PASOK. An “easy” PASOK, a “strategic ally”. PASOK has history, social roots and dignity. He will speak the word of progress and truth without counting the costs” added Nikos Androulakis.

He did not leave SYRIZA unarmed, as he noted about the main opposition party: “I hear Mr. Tsipras’ communication arms talking about “blackmailed” and “caught”. As soon as there was a moral issue, the next day anyone who had insulted the Greek people was excluded from our ballots. Who is “caught” and “blackmailed”? He is the one whose sidekick was convicted 13-0 by the Special Court but instead of sending him home, he has him adorn the SYRIZA ballots.”

Mr. Androulakis argued that his struggle is “against two dangerous systems of power.” Where instead of unity and perspective, they play dangerous games and choose only division and toxicity. Instead of hope, they invest in fear. They do not hesitate to enlist their digital parastatal to conquer power”, as he characteristically mentioned and called on the citizens not to be afraid of the last minute danger and to support PASOK-KINAL. “So I say here from Chania, from our homeland Crete: Do not give in to terrorism and fear. Invest in hope and perspective for you, your children and your grandchildren. Remember which is the faction that gave dignity to the Greek people. What is the faction that made the great works? Who is the faction that brought quality democracy and who are those who condemn us to a country of lost opportunities”. “PASOK has returned to spoil the plans of the domestic elite, who want Mitsotakis strong and Tsipras a sponsor. A strong PASOK means a strong people. This is who we are. The people-born Movement of Andreas Papandreou once again embraces the anxieties, hopes and perspective of every Greek woman and every Greek man”, he underlined.

Regarding the wiretapping issue, he spoke about the Prime Minister’s confession for illegal monitoring: “I am waiting for the Justice to call the Prosecutor of the EYP, who charged me as a “national danger” in order to “legalize” my monitoring during the PASOK democratic elections. We will be the faction that will guarantee the end of this institutional decline. The people do not forget what the Right means, what conservation means. We have a duty to fight to prove that this faction, with its rebirth, will show who is the real opponent of the New Democracy and certainly not the sponsors of the New Democracy”.

He then made an extensive reference to the important reforms made by PASOK, asked for a vote of confidence and denounced those who mock Andreas Papandreou.

“Mr. Mitsotakis co-governs with the Popular Orthodox Alarm. Phileleftheros plays it, but the three top Ministries are held by Karatzaferis’ “children”. Does Mr. Tsipras have progressive, center-left on his ballots? Find me an extreme rightist on the PASOK ballots and compare them with the SYRIZA ballots. This faction is the progressive force of the country, because it has no candidates, Mr. Tsipras, nor Antonars nor the “orphans” of Kammenos. Lessons of progressivism in your party, not in the party of Andreas Papandreou” countered the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.
