New Democracy’s goal in the second elections is not to reduce the percentage – In SYRIZA, the new narrative includes a two-front – To restore PASOK to the levels of 2012, the Androulakis bet
By Antonis Anzoletou
The June 25 elections will be pivotal for the new political scene. At this moment there is a strong pole, the New Democracy, SYRIZA which wishes to remain the hegemon in the space of the center-left and PASOK which is trying to enter a wedge. The blue faction dominates in 58 of the country’s 59 regions and the goal is not to overturn this in the next elections. There should be no disengagement and the looming self-reliance should be put into practice.
From next week the prime minister will start a new round of tours focusing on places he has not visited. They have recorded that the areas where the numbers of the party were found rose significantly. Headquarters will be moved to Piraeus next week. The worst scenario at the moment for Kyriakos Mitsotakis would be for his percentages to decline by some units and at the same time one or two new parties enter the Parliament. Such a thing would not be good for him either Nikos Androulakisas it involves the “risk” of being asked to participate in a joint government.
Its head Charilaou Trikoupi what he wishes is to remain in the opposition space and bring it back PASOK, within the next four years, in the position it was before the 2012 elections. It is not an easy bet. THE SYRIZA it now has roots in Greek society and a “concrete” base that moves in the 20% zone. It had moved to 23.75% in the 2019 European elections when everyone in Koumoundourou had been disappointed with the party’s performance.
In SYRIZA, the new narrative includes a two-front. “The Mitsotakis government it should not be left unchecked and threshing”, stressed a leading executive after the conclusion of the meeting of the Executive Office. The dispersion of the vote and the low rally will be countered by projecting the need to have a strong opposition, several party members argue. At the same time, the narrative of progressive governance also comes to an end.
SYRIZA is now alone and against those who targeted it in the May 21 ballot box. The spikes and attacks towards PASOK in the next period will be many from the Koumoundourou they will show “who is strong”. Alexis Tsipras will fight the battle of the next electoral battle and as they say the climate is unifying and he never entered the table on any issue of his resignation. The “stamp” of the new strategy to be followed will be put in the meeting of the Central Committee which will be held tomorrow afternoon.
