“The personal insult does not bend my obligation to fight to the end to strengthen the Democratic Party,” the former PASOK minister says in his statement Haris Kastanidison the occasion of the decision of the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis to keep the parliamentary seat in A’ Thessaloniki, as a result of which he remains outside the Parliament.

“A simple fighting citizen or a participant in the ballot, it is indifferent, because I never depended my attitude on officialdom. The choices are Mr. Androulakis’s,” added Mr. Kastanidis.

His statement in detail:

“The president of PASOK informed me of his decision to occupy the headquarters of the faction in A’ Thessaloniki, at the exact same time that he was officially informing the press.
I claim no rules of ethics in an age of discounting politics. Mr. Androulakis assessed, judged and decided alone, as, after all, he is entitled to.
The decision of the president of PASOK has practically no significance, since the Parliament will be convened for just one day and will be dissolved immediately.
In the symbolic and moral realm, however, it is of great importance, for reasons that only those who have a historical awareness of the space perceive.
The personal insult does not bend my obligation to fight to the end to strengthen the Democratic Party.
A simple fighting citizen or a participant in the ballot, it is indifferent, because I have never depended my attitude on officialdom.
The choices are Mr. Androulakis’.
