“For 8 years I have been working with the president of the ND, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his vision to unite the Greeks, to ensure the stable upward trajectory of the country in a difficult time”, he said to SKAI and the show “Morning” with Giorgos Autias, ND MP and former minister Takis Theodorikakos.

“I feel justified because I see that the citizens have supported this choice. I believe that last Sunday’s vote is a positive vote. The Greek people – and this rarely happens in Greek political history – have voted in favor of continuing the course, with the same Prime Minister and the same faction, which happens for the first time in its history. In this way, an era of catastrophizing, division, unnecessary high tones comes to a definitive end. Logic, moderation prevails. Citizens judge and compare and we move forward,” he added.

Asked if the dilemma of the June 25 elections is self-reliance or adventures, Mr. Theodorikakos replied: “We must all realize that despite the fact that we had elections last Sunday, what ultimately determines who and with what power will govern the country, will be judged on June 25. It is absolutely certain that the Greek people, with their vote the day before yesterday, proved that they want stability, certainty. He has chosen Kyriakos Mitsotakis as Prime Minister, but for this to take effect, everyone must vote again. Because if they don’t go to vote, their choice from yesterday will be cancelled. I believe that our compatriots will vote for ND again and if they give the same percentage – no matter what happens with the other parties – ND will be a self-sufficient government.”

“All of us who belong to this party must do our best, very consciously, to explain to our compatriots that although yesterday’s result was important, the crucial and decisive thing is to repeat the vote in ND on June 25 , because on that day the polls are empty. We are starting from the beginning and we have to go back to the same percentage to be sure,” he added.

Referring to the simple analogy, Mr. Theodorikakos argued that “the simple analogy had been established by Mr. Tsipras when he realized that ND and Mr. Mitsotakis were coming and he wanted to prevent it. He also noted that through the vote of the people “there is a punishment and an annulment of simple proportionality. What I heard from Mrs. Gerovasili is useful, because we must finally finish with the simple analog. The electoral law when the elections are held on June 25, can be a stable electoral system.”

For the visit of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Mount Athos, Mr. Theodorikakos reminded that Mr. Mitsotakis, in addition to being the leader of the faction, is also an Orthodox Christian, just like the majority of the Greek people with deep faith, and consequently the visit has substance and not a pretense or electoral nature. “What the Greeks must take into account is that it is not possible in our country to form a political platform based on the Christian faith. Almost all Greeks – if one excludes the Muslims in Thrace and some immigrants – we are Orthodox Christians”, while he called “very important” the Jerome’s interventionwith “powerful messages for those who need to receive them.”

Finally, Mr. Theodorikakos called on the parties to remove any kind of restriction regarding the vote of expatriates and to agree that all Greeks who live abroad and are registered in the electoral rolls, in their country of residence, can vote.
