“I am asking for a strong mandate for stable governance. I emphasize in any case that the result of the second ballot is not counted in the new one. The ballot box is empty again,” emphasized the president of New Democracy
We have to work hard to honor the trust that the people have shown us, the president of the ND, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, emphasized in an interview with Mega, on Monday morning.
Mr. Mitsotakis noted that the historical result of May 21st fills him with greater responsibility, while he noted that “obviously in four years there will also be phenomena of arrogance and mistakes that should be identified and corrected. I am very insistent on exercising a different model of governance. And the central state worked in this direction because it clearly set goals and gave accountability.”
The ND president emphasized: “All I ask is that the citizens reaffirm what they did on May 21. Our citizens vote not for what we have done, but for what we will do to improve their lives, the great challenges of the future. Obviously, however, a strong government is a condition for us to implement our program.”
And he emphasized: “I am asking for a strong mandate for stable governance. The previous government was a stable government. I emphasize in any case that the result of the second ballot is not counted in the new one. The ballot box is empty again. But there is no substantial reason for him to change his opinion in 4 weeks, nor do I believe that the opposition parties can change their programs.”
