“Leoni in waiting” by Georges Fedot at the K. Gavras Cinema
A special work of French comedy, Georges Fedot’s one-act comedy “The Leonie in Waiting” directed by Tassos Pyrgieris will be presented at the K. Gavras Cinema in Peristeri, on Monday, May 29. Story: Leoni feels the first pains of childbirth. She feels irritated and paces up and down the room, making strange demands every so often to her (patient) husband. They notify her parents and the midwife who will assist in the delivery. But things are not that simple. Only eight months have passed since the young couple’s marriage, and the premature birth may provoke comments about the daughter’s chastity before marriage.

The Lullaby Project: The tone of love” at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center
On Monday, May 29, the acclaimed composers Antonis Apergis, Expe, Yiannis Konsolakis, Leon of Athens, Danai Nielsen, Semeli Papavasileiou, Fotis Siotas and Dimitra Trypanis undertake to render unique love stories through original pieces, on the Alternative Stage of the National Opera. In this year’s edition of the Lullaby Project, El Sistema Greece continues to expand the spectrum of parenthood and highlight different aspects of this unique love relationship. A love that is not necessarily defined by gender or biological relationship. Through authentic musical creations, unique stories are presented that highlight a multitude of current social issues that aim for vigilance and acceptance. Moms from Ukraine, a mother of five who came to Greece as a refugee, a mother raising her daughter alone, the mother of a transgender child, the mother of a child with down syndrome, a mother raising her child while dealing with her own serious illness, a midwife who has offered the first hug to thousands of children as well as fathers temporarily incarcerated in Korydallos prisons who are trying to be present for their children, are the protagonists of this year’s
Lullaby Project.
