In four months, the Group for the Protection of University Institutions (OPPI) will be ready to take over the guarding of Universities where there is a guarding problem, such as ASOEE, and in any other Institutions the rectors request, stressed the Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodos in SKAI 100.3.
The members of OPPI took office today, on Sunday they are presented in Komotini, and on Monday their training begins which will last four months, said Takis Theodorikakos.
They will join the universities, the minister explained, based on the plan made by the rectors who ask for the existence of OPPI, while they will not go to those university institutions that are not needed.
“The Greek police have the ability to intervene. “Five times in the last 2.5 months, the police entered the Universities to demolish shacks”, noted the Ministry of Culture.
“The whole of Greek society wants the universities to operate, and the children to be completely safe,” said the Minister of Citizen Protection. “We need order and security in the country, and this goes through the protection of citizens,” he said.
As he mentioned, security inside the university is a universal request of the Greek society.
