Vaccination statement of foreign citizens: The process step by step

The Ministry of Digital Government issued relevant information and instructions for the process of declaring vaccinations abroad for citizens over 60 years of age residing in Greece.

The announcement from the Ministries of Health and Digital Governance clarifies that all citizens:

(a) is over 60 years of age,

(b) have completed their vaccination (two-dose or single-dose vaccine) by 16 January 2022 abroad; and

(c) are subject to domestic tax authorities

have the following options in order to be registered in the Register of Vaccinated Abroad:

Case 1: Those who have completed their vaccination (two-dose or single-dose vaccine) in an EU country or in one of the 33 countries participating in the European COVID Certificate, can enter anagnorisi.emvolio.gov.gr and register their vaccination. They are also given the opportunity to make a souvenir appointment. Those who for any reason can not complete the process through the platform, can come to KEP.

Case 2: Those who have completed their vaccination (two-dose or single-dose vaccine) with any of the vaccines recognized by the National Vaccination Committee in any third country outside the EU or the 33 countries participating in the European COVID Certificate must come to any KEP by submitting required supporting documents referred to in no. 1178 / 10-01-2022 JMC (Government Gazette B 40 / 11-01-2022).

Countries participating in the European COVID Certificate are defined as countries and regions that have entered into agreements with the EU for mutual recognition of certificates.

At the moment they amount to 33 and are:

  • Albania,
  • Andorra,
  • Armenia,
  • Cape Verde,
  • El Salvador,
  • Faroe Islands,
  • Agriculture,
  • Israel,
  • Iceland,
  • Lebanon,
  • Liechtenstein,
  • Moldova,
  • Monaco,
  • Montenegro,
  • Morocco,
  • New Zealand,
  • Northern Macedonia,
  • Norway,
  • Panama,
  • San Marino,
  • Serbia,
  • Singapore,
  • Switzerland,
  • Taiwan,
  • Thailand,
  • Tunisia,
  • Togo,
  • Turkey,
  • Ukraine,
  • United Arab Emirates,
  • United Kingdom,
  • Uruguay,
  • Vatican.

The vaccines recognized by the National Vaccination Committee are: Pfizer BioNtech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca / Oxford, Johnson & Johnson / Janssen, Sinovac / Coronavac, Gamaleya (Sputnik), Cansino Biologics, Sinopharm and Covishield.
