With a speech in Peristeri, Kyriakos Mitsotakis officially started his pre-election campaign, ahead of the June 25 elections.

The president of New Democracy referred to the great victory achieved by the faction in the May 21 polls, saying typically: “We painted all of Greece blue.”

“Perhaps many were surprised by the election result. For the first time since the post-revolutionary period, a party increases its percentages after four years of government and is the first party to have more than double the votes of the second.” He added: “Where have all those who predicted the election will be a derby gone? Society rewarded us at the ballot box.”
