PASOK’s program in New Democracy’s sights
The secretary of the Political Committee of the New Democracy, Pavlos Marinakis, speaks about the repeated blunders committed by PASOK officials in recent days.
In a statement he issued, he states:
“Before the May 21 elections, PASOK had announced a multi-page, vague and general programme, which was also posted on its official website.
After repeated pallinodes to which his officials fell in recent days, regarding the imposition of new taxes and the increase of existing ones, the party of Mr. Androulakis withdrew from its website the general, multi-page program, replacing it with a four-page one full of slogans.
After yesterday’s revelation of this “hidden”, in PASOK they brought back the general program – in an unrelated part of the website -, baptizing it as “texts and comments of open consultation” and hiding it as low as possible in the “positions” field.
We would of course like to know:
1. Was there another program before the first election that was replaced?
2. Is the text of the “consultation” the final program or is the four-page document finally valid?
3. Since the statements of Mr. Androulakis that can be measured – as there are many that are completely unclear and cannot be costed – cost 12 billion a year, let’s wait for a new “update” that will inform us about all 12 billion revenues that will finance them?
New Democracy is the only party that has published a detailed and costed program which does not include a single tax increase, but only reductions and measures to reduce unemployment, increase wages and the disposable income of all citizens.
On June 25th we vote on who will govern the country and, as long as the citizens honor us again with their trust, on June 26th we will have a stable New Democracy Government and a strong Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.”
