Meeting with its delegation Greek National Minority consisting of Giorgos Tzomakasvice-president of Omonia, Thodoris Goumas, president of the Union of Chimarriots and Petros Beleris, son of Freddy Beleris, the president of SYRIZA had today, Alexis Tsipras in order to be informed about the developments, in relation to the imprisonment of the elected Mayor of Heimarra.
According to information from Koumoundourou, its president SYRIZA underlined the importance of the release of Freddy Beleris, noting that his arrest, two days before the elections and his continued detention, without any solid evidence against him, is provocative and does not constitute fair treatment of an elected representative of the Local Government .
He added, the importance it has for its European perspective Albania, the respect for the rule of law and the rights of the Greek National Minority as enshrined in the EU Conclusions on 18/6/2019. For its part, the delegation thanked the President of SYRIZA-PS for the constant, long-term support for the rights of the Greek National Minority.
The meeting was attended by the diplomatic advisor of Alexis Tsipras, Vangelis Kalpadakis and George Trichas, coordinator of the Network of Northern Epirus members and friends of SYRIZA-PS.
