The medical professor and ND candidate for parliament in Evia made a clarifying statement, after the reactions caused by his statements to Sky 100.3 – Pavlos Marinakis was previously contacted, who expressed his dissatisfaction with what he said
In a clarifying statement, the professor of Medicine and candidate for parliament with the ND in Evia made a clarifying statement on Thursday afternoon, Spyros Pneumatikos, regarding what he had said this morning to Sky 100.3 about patient selection. Mr. Pneumatikos states that some of his words were misinterpreted and “individual phrases were used by some who deliberately wanted to distort them”, while he apologizes to every citizen and patient separately, if any of his words left room for misinterpretation.
What Mr. Pneumatikos said caused reactions, while the professor of medicine and SYRIZA candidate for parliament Athena Linou, talked about unveiling an ND plan to triage patients based on treatment costs. In fact, according to information, ND secretary Pavlos Marinakis called Mr. Pneumatikos on the phone and expressed his strong discomfort. Following the communication, the Spiritualist issued the clarifying statement, the full text of which is as follows:
“This morning, I had a purely scientific discussion on SKAI radio on health issues. Unfortunately, some of my words, given the limited time I had to analyze such a difficult topic, were misinterpreted and individual phrases were used by some who deliberately wanted to distort them.
As a public health worker, throughout the years of my career, I have demonstrated in practice my love for the patient and my clear and deep conviction that human life is sacred and of absolute value. I have always acted on this principle and this is an inviolable principle for me in my scientific contribution, but also in my political activity.
I sincerely apologize to every citizen and patient separately, if any of my words left any room for misinterpretation.”
