In the context of the visits carried out by New Democracy in view of the June 25 elections, a group led by the candidate MP of Chania Dora Bakoyannis paid a visit to Thessaloniki.
During the tour, Mrs. Bakoyannis met with members of the DEEP and DIMTO and participated in the organizational meeting held with ONNED executives and members of the election campaign committee. Earlier, Mrs. Bakoyannis had held an open speech at the Evosmos Cultural Center, conveying to a crowd of people New Democracy’s programmatic positions for the June 25 elections.
Immediately after the end of the event, Mrs. Bakoyannis stated: “In the May 21 elections, we had a positive message for the Greece of tomorrow, for the Greece of perspective, for the Greece of stability. Our opponents presented a black, kneeling, sad, hungry, destroyed Greece and this was not the Greece that Greek citizens live in. Greek citizens see that there are problems, they have anxieties, they need solutions, but they see that Greece is progressing. That goes forward. That has nothing to do with Greece in 2015.
The election result showed that we have a strong wind in our sails. There is no doubt that the vote given to us by the Greek citizens is a vote of confidence. It is a vote of confidence from Nea Ionia, from Perama, from the western districts of Athens, and a vote of confidence from the youth. New kids want truth, they don’t want fairy tales, they want perspective, and credibility. Tell them little but do it. And in Kyriakos Mitsotakis they found a man who did what he said.
The previous elections are as if they never happened. Politically and socially, yes they did. In terms of substance, however, the June 25 elections will produce a government.
Only the Greek people are omnipotent. He will give the country a strong majority on the 25th of the month. We need stable government. We need her, perhaps more than ever. Things are changing around us, they are changing geostrategically, geopolitically. Turkey, today, has a new stable government. Europe, today, is struggling between too many thoughts, decisions, weaknesses, unfortunately. We need a Prime Minister like Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who has the prestige to talk equally with other leaders, has the prestige to speak to Congress, has the prestige to negotiate and finally succeed in bringing 31 billion from the Recovery Fund to Greece.
