“The crucial stake on June 25 is not, as Mr. Mitsotakis says, whether we will have a government on the 26th or whether we will go for third elections, it is whether we will have an uncontrollable, unruly regime,” said the president of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance , Alexis Tsipras, addressing citizens of Veria.

“Unfortunately, in the last days we see the arrogance and arrogance of a Right from the very old days”, he noted and added that we saw this behavior in the statements of Mrs. Bakoyannis about the Muslim minority of Thrace.

“We saw this arrogance and conceit, characteristically, in the statements of Mrs. Bakoyannis in Thrace, where she addressed the Muslim minority in a blackmailing manner, saying to these poor people: Be careful, we want the next day the whole map to be blue , if there is a different color on the map and you are the one responsible you will have a hard time. And the “You’re going to have a hard time” message wasn’t just aimed at the Muslim minority. He said it in front of the cameras to pass into every home, every family, every social group. Those who find themselves facing their establishment perception will have a hard time,” he stressed.

“We have to give an answer to this regime message. That is why we call on all democratic and progressive citizens to realize that the next day will indeed be difficult for democracy and for society if this development takes place. That is, if a regime is created, if the urbanization of political life in our country progresses.

Mr. Mitsotakis admires Mr. Orban. He admires him because he followed his practices both in relation to immigration and in relation to the rule of law. He used the National Intelligence Service to eavesdrop on his political opponents, his ministers and even the leadership of the Armed Forces.

And now he wants to eliminate his opponents. He wants to create conditions of a monopoly so that the next day he doesn’t have someone to prevent him from implementing this policy,” Mr. Tsipras pointed out.

For this reason, he said, he addressed all progressive and democratic citizens, saying: “The dilemma of the ballot box is clear and the design of New Democracy is also clear. Let these citizens go to smaller parties so that Mr. Mitsotakis will be uncontrollable tomorrow.

We call on them, despite the differences we may have, to strengthen SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance decisively on June 25, in order to reverse the negative association. We will fight, in any case, so that there will be someone the next day who will be able to look the uncontrollable Right in the eye and support society’s struggles for democracy, progress, and social justice. Give strength to Hope to maintain justice in our country”.

The president of SYRIZA accused New Democracy of taking advantage of the shipwreck off Pylos to “wreck” the debate of the political leaders. And this, as he said, because he does not want a discussion on the programs, because he has a hidden agenda.

“Mr. Mitsotakis says things he won’t do and doesn’t say other things he plans to do,” he underlined, adding that pre-election announcements such as hospital recruitment and the increase in the average salary are not included in the medium-term program and will therefore not be implemented.

On the contrary, he accused Mr. Mitsotakis of implementing a series of measures at the expense of society.

As he noted, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance prioritizes human life and the issues of the National Health System, accuracy and small and medium enterprises.

Specifically for the prefecture of Imathia, Mr. Tsipras referred to the problems he faces in agriculture and other sectors and emphasized the need to keep the parliamentary seat of SYRIZA-PS in the prefecture so that there is no New Democracy monopoly in parliamentary representation.

Due to the rain, the speech took place outside the SYRIZA election center and not on the pedestrian street of Veria.

Before and after the speech, the official opposition leader had the opportunity to walk for a while on a main street and greet citizens in a cafe.

The next stop of Mr. Tsipras’ tour is Naoussa, while at 19:30 he will speak in Giannitsa, in EPON square.
