“Only the KKE can form a strong opposition to the next anti-people government of the ND”, stated today the general secretary of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas.

Speaking to “ANT1”, Mr. Koutsoubas emphasized that “opposition and an obstacle to taking anti-popular measures, to take at least some measures to relieve the people, but also to open a way to repeal the anti-popular laws definitively and irrevocably, can it is done by the power of the KKE, not only inside the Parliament, but also outside among the people because the main thing is the labor-popular struggles, the mobilizations, the organized labor-union movement everywhere”.

The c.g. The Central Committee of the KKE noted that “neither SYRIZA nor PASOK can form a strong opposition, which in the past four years voted, respectively, 50% and 70% of the emblematic anti-people bills of the ND” stressing that “ND, SYRIZA, PASOK have something in common program on the basic and key issues and a common strategic navigation line, they say “yes” to the 350 unpopular prerequisites of the Recovery Fund which means new auctions, new taxation for the Greek people, wage freezes, bad labor relations, essentially no health financing” .

Responding to a relative disgust of the president of SYRIZA-PS, Al. Tsipras, said that “1% more in the KKE is what Greek society needs right now. Two more MPs from SYRIZA means that they will vote in the Parliament on anti-popular bills and at the same time they will undermine the massification of the labor-popular movement and its struggles”. “Accordingly, we call on the workers who voted ND to reject the false dilemma of “stability or instability” and to strengthen the KKE”, he added.

When asked about the composition of the new Parliament and Z. Konstantopoulou, he replied that “Ms. Konstantopoulou contributed the most in the first half of the SYRIZA government to pass all the anti-popular measures and the third most shameful memorandum. He may not have voted for it, but he was there all along the way for the stability pact and in the planning for the memoranda.”

He recalled that Mrs. Konstantopoulou “had said that it was a ‘figure of speech that we will abolish the memorandums'” supporting Mr. Tsipras and when the KKE submitted a proposal for a law to abolish the memorandums, which as the president of the Parliament he had the obligation to bring to the Plenary, Ms. Konstantopoulou refused and left it in a drawer in her office.”

“So, he is making a big mockery of the Greek people,” emphasized the head of the KE of the KKE, including Ms. Konstantopoulou’s party among the “disposable parties” that appeared in previous years and then disappeared, pointing out that “these formations are of no use the Greek people in nothing”.

Regarding the many dead shipwreck off Pylos he spoke of an “unspeakable tragedy”, underlining that these people want to stay in their countries, but are forced to leave because of imperialist wars, poverty and political persecution. As he said, Greece participates in wars and interventions “through its participation in NATO and the EU” and “this must stop”.

To a question about “open or closed borders” Mr. Koutsoubas replied that “they could be open when there is a bridge of friendship and cooperation with other peoples. If there was this society that we have in our program, a society where the working class, the Greek people, would be in power, if in Turkey there was such a truly popular power”.

In the observation that “we are not talking about these societies”, he noted that “the primary thing is to move in this direction, for society, the economy, the political system to change drastically, so that the wealth-producing resources of our country are not exploited and of other countries by capitalist states, monopolistic groups and multinationals, thus creating wars”.

“We must move in this direction and that is why the strengthening of the KKE is of great importance”, he said.

“Regarding the policy of open and closed borders, it means that we are leading to the suppression of refugees while the issue is solving the problems,” he stressed, recalling the KKE’s proposal to abolish the EU-Turkey joint statement.

“Within Turkey and the countries where the refugees are located, the refugees could be certified and granted asylum or forwarded to the final destination. This is not possible because the EU does not want it because it wants to have the refugees only as a cheap labor force”, he added.

“In Greece, with 250,000 euros of money a refugee can come comfortably, the Greek state gives him a Golden Visa, for 5,000 euros a criminal slave trader drowns people in the Mediterranean”, concluded the head of the KE of the KKE.
