In the framework of the New Democracy visits, in view of the June 25 elections, a group headed by the former Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs and candidate for Member of Parliament of Athens Angel Syrigos and the candidate for the Member of Parliament of Serres and secretary of International Relations of the New Democracy Tasso Hatzivasilioumade a visit to the prefecture of Xanthi.

During the tour, Mr. Syrigos and Mr. Hatzivasileiou, accompanied by the candidate deputies of the prefecture, the president and the members of the DEEP were in Porto Lagos, where they met residents, visited Abdira and Jenisea, transferred the program positions of the New Republic in Komnina and Pachni and discussed the issues of unacritic Thrace with citizens in the city of Xanthi, Stavroupoli and Lykodromio. At the same time, they met with the students, parents and teachers of the robotics team of the 2nd General High School of Xanthi, which, after being distinguished in a pan-Hellenic competition, will participate in the world competition “F1 in Schools” in Singapore. In addition, they also participated in a meeting with the rector of the Democritus University of Thrace Fotis Maris and academics.

In his statements immediately after the end of the visits, the former Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs and candidate for Member of Parliament of Athens, Mr. Syrigos emphasized: “Greece starts from Thrace! Together with Tassos Hatzivasiliou we visited Xanthi today. In Komnina, Stavroupoli, Lykodromio, Porto Lagos, Abdira, Jenisea, Pachni we talked with citizens about the crucial elections of June 25. We talked to academics from the Democritus University of Thrace, the Polytechnic of Xanthi and the Medical School of Alexandroupoli. We met with students parents and teachers from the 2nd High School Robotics Team participating in the global competition in Singapore. Xanthi with its wonderful people and unparalleled beauty sends a message of strong self-reliance for New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis”.

On his part, the Serres MP candidate and Secretary of International Relations New Republic Mr. Hatzivasiliou made the following statement: “With Angelos Syrigos we visited beautiful Xanthi with its rich culture and long history. We spoke with citizens, businessmen, workers and young children in Xanthi and in different Christian and Muslim villages. Especially in the latter, we discussed the important reforms promoted by the ND government in minority issues. We exchanged views with everyone on the future of the country and on the challenges ahead of us. We thanked them for their support for ND and Kyriakos Mitsotakis and asked them to do the same on June 25. The citizens want a stable government that will lead the country safely forward!”
