He handed over the reins of the Ministry of Tourism to Olga Kefalogianni and Elena Rapti the Ioanna Dretta.

The new Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, did not hide her excitement about her return to the ministry in question.

“My emotion is enormous to be here again in the familiar and beautiful places. I am returning to a place to serve with all my might the most critical, productive and creative sector of the Greek economy,” he stressed.

“I see in front of me people I know well and appreciate a lot. We found ourselves together in tough circumstances. We fought to resurrect tourism from the deep crisis that was going through in 2012. We adopted an aggressive tourism diplomacy policy aimed at changing the negative climate that prevailed for Greece abroad at the time” added Mrs. Kefalogianni.

“I was and am very proud of this success and one thing I took away was an appreciation for the ethos and hard work of the ministry and EOT staff. Success is the result of hard but teamwork” he concluded, stressing that tourism wants you to keep a firm grip on the steering wheel.
