The benefits of the European digital certification, as shown by a study by the Bruegel Institute in France, Germany, Italy, benefits associated with increased vaccination, economic recovery and reduced pressure on each country’s Health Systems, highlight in a post on social media the Minister of State Akis Skertsos.
The post begins by reminding that “1 year ago, on January 12, 2021, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a letter to the President of the EU, suggested the adoption of a standard European digital vaccination certificate that would facilitate the movement of European citizens, and the recovery of our freedom in a pandemic. “
Finally, the Minister of State continues, “Greece’s proposal was accepted by the other Member States – who fortunately did not listen to SYRIZA who, as in most other issues of the pandemic, strongly disagreed, speaking on 22/1/2021 about a” certificate of superficiality and political incompetence “. The European digital certificate was technically implemented in a minimum of months, was piloted from 1 June 2021 (of course with Greece being one of the first countries to activate it) and was finally adopted by all EU Member States and at least 8 third countries ” , also writes, to follow the reference to today’s study:
“A year later the Bruegel Institute conducted a study on the benefits of European digital certification in France, Germany, Italy, in terms of increasing vaccination, economic recovery and reducing pressure on each country’s Health Systems. The results listed below are truly impressive and admittedly exceed our expectations as to the enormous importance of this digital tool.
However, they emphasize one more thing: the role that our country has played in reducing the loss of human life due to COVID not only at national level but also in the rest of Europe, as well as in the return of European economies to positive growth rates “, he notes with emphasis Minister of State.
In detail, in France we had:
* increase in vaccinations by 13%
* 3,979 fewer COVID deaths
* +6 billion euros in GDP
Recorded in Germany:
* increase of vaccinations by 6.2%
* 1,133 fewer COVID deaths
* +1.4 billion euros in GDP
Finally, in Italy it was found:
* increase of vaccinations by 9.7%
* 1,331 fewer COVID deaths
* + 2.1 billion euros in GDP
Closing his post, A. Skertsos pays tribute to the Minister of Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the director of his political office, Konstantinos Hambidis.
