The seat of State as the 9th seat of its parliamentary group is requested in a special urgent memorandum to the Supreme Electoral Commission for the National Elections of June 25, Freedom Sailing.

In a statement issued by Zoi Konstantopoulou’s party, it is stated that:

“With a special urgent memorandum to the Supreme Electoral Commission for the National Elections of 25/6/2023, Pleussi Eleftheria REQUESTS to be allocated to it, in addition to the already (unofficially) announced 8 seats (A’ Athens, B1 Northern Sector, B2 Western Sector, B3 South Sector, A’ Thessaloniki, B’ Thessaloniki, Eastern Attica, B’ Piraeus) and one State seat, which remains unoccupied, due to the non-filing of a Combination for the State Ballot by the Spartan Party.

After a thorough study and analysis of the electoral legislation, the written provisions and the electoral data, the legal team of Pleusis Eleftherias has fully documented that, contrary to what had been unofficially announced so far, Pleusis Eleftherias belongs to and must be allocated an additional seat ( 9th), from the seats of State. This result results from the fact that, due to the non-filing of a State ballot by the “Spartiates” Party, an additional State seat remains unallocated, which by law must be allocated to Pleusi Eleftherias, which is the party with the largest unused balance percentage and the first party, based on unused balance, in the row for the allocation of that particular seat.

It is pointed out that this specific seat does not belong to any other party nor could it be allocated to any other party except for Freedom of Navigation, while the initial (unofficial) announcement that the seat was attributed as the 7th Seat of State in New Democracy does not find any legal basis .

The Head of Freedom of Navigation, Zoe Konstantopoulou, who signed the relevant memorandum to the Supreme Electoral Commission, points out that the distribution of the 9th Seat is, from every point of view, legally and democratically, mandatory and imposed, based on explicit legislative provisions, while any different distribution of the unassigned seat or redistribution of seats cannot be done”.
