The timeline of the processes for the election of the new president in SYRIZA – The roles that Gerovasilis, Kalamatianos, Pappas, Tzakis and Iliopoulos will assume
The procedures in SYRIZA are “running” at a fast pace, after the sudden resignation of Alexis Tsipras.
As decided by the Political Secretariat of the party, Sokratis Famellos will be the new president of the SYRIZA parliamentary group, while Olga Gerovasilis will be nominated for the position of the vice-president of the Parliament.
Secretary will be Dionysis Kalamatianos.
Nikos Pappas, Theodora Tzakri and Nasos Iliopoulos will be the new parliamentary representatives of the party, as was decided at the Political Secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
The specific group will undertake to organize the line of confrontation and opposition with the government and Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in view of the meeting that will take place in the Parliament, before the vote of confidence in the Plenary.
The meeting of the Central Committee will take place on July 15-16, where the nominations for the presidency of SYRIZA will be submitted
the new president will be elected in the first ten days of September. The extraordinary congress of this party will be held in November.
