With the government’s “motto” remaining the improvement of citizens’ everyday life, as the prime minister emphatically and repeatedly committed during the pre-election period, Kyriakos Mitsotakis now continues on the “field” to give priority to the Ministries that are directly involved in achieving of the specific target.
After the meetings he had at the Maximou Palace with the Minister of Education Kyriakos Pierakakis and the Minister of Labor Adonis Georgiadis, today at 10 am the meeting with the Minister of Health Michalis Chrysochoidis is in order, sending the message of the importance and importance of the ministries in question but and the “signal” to their ministers for immediate, hard and persistent work in their field.
THE strengthening and reconstruction of the NSS for Kyriakos Mitsotakis, it is his personal bet for the new four-year government, spearheading the recruitment of 10,000 doctors and nurses, the modernization of 80 hospitals and 156 health centers, the reduction of the response time of the EKAB both in urban centers and in remote areas of the country, and the drastic reduction of waiting times by 50% for surgeries and by 70% in Emergency Departments.
Already the Michalis Chrysochoidis has formed a first composite picture regarding the structural and operational issues of the NHS hospitals of the whole country, after the teleconference he held with the participation of the governors of all the NHS hospitals, as well as the governors of the seven Health Regions of the country. This will also be the subject of the Prime Minister’s briefing by the Minister of Health.
Also on the table will be the establishment of mixed crews of the EKAV, particularly in the remote and island areas, with the contribution of the Fire Department and the Armed Forces. An upgrade of the EKAV, which includes by object airlifts but also the new strengthening of the islands’ hospitals and Health Centers with personnel of all specialties, so that the needs for airlifts of patients from the islands to the basin or to Crete, return from new at rational levels.
And while the visits will continue to other critical Ministries, at the same time, Megaros Maximos and all other Ministries are working at “full speed” in view of the three days of the government’s programmatic statements that start on Thursday and will culminate on Saturday with the vote of confidence in the government .
A debate in which the Ministers will specify the immediate priorities as well as longer-term goals according to their portfolio, while the eyes turn to the Prime Minister’s speech.
The meetings at the Maximos Palace are continuous so that the prime minister is not limited to a simple reading of measures, but the aim is to send a clear message about the policy he intends and plans to implement in the next 4 years. Already, as Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself has envisioned, measures are expected to be announced to combat exactitude and support the vulnerable, which are included in four axes of the economic program: better wages, better health, a better state and a better life in a strong Hellas.
In any case, every word of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in terms of finances will be absolutely measured and compatible with the country’s fiscal capacity, as the government’s programmatic statements are also under the microscope of the markets, at a time when the recovery of the investment grade from our country within the next few months a national target has been designated.
The three-day debate on the government’s policy statements will open with the prime minister’s speech on Thursday 6 July at 5pm, while on Saturday afternoon, and before he leaves for the NATO Summit and the upcoming meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will rise to the floor of the Parliament for a speech, which, according to government officials, will not consist of a long list of measures, but will have a strong ideological sign.
