The developments in SYRIZA after the departure of Alexis Tsipras from the presidency are rapid. Koumoundourou is going through difficult times and is looking to find her footing. The majority believes that with the election of the new leadership everything will go its way and therefore it is something that must be done quickly. There is also the different opinion that says “no” to fast track procedures. On this matter, Rania Svigou speaking to “REAL FM” said: “we considered that what is important is for the party to immediately respond to its role as a force of the ruling Left, and as an official opposition”. About who is right and who is wrong is expected to be a lot of talk in the coming days until the meeting of the Central Committee next Saturday.

Popi Tsapanidou also left Koumoundourou. She submitted her resignation to Rania Svigou, as first revealed by SKAI, showing that the change of persons in the official opposition will be universal in the next period. SYRIZA is called, as in the second ballots of June 25, to change on the fly. He must show himself worthy of the institutional role he holds as the official opposition with PASOK pushing hard. The battle in Parliament has begun and it will be tough. This was shown by the positions of the political leaders in the program statements that will culminate today. Sokratis Famellos, with his intervention yesterday, showed that as head of the parliamentary group, he will attempt to squeeze the government.

Internally, things are not easy and the absence of Alexis Tsipras, who always acted as a “firefighter” between the trends, is obvious.. The image of the presidential elections shows cracks with divergent opinions. Yesterday the “Members’ Movement” met and everything shows that Nikos Pappas is oriented towards being the candidate of the trend that has the majority within the party. He has not yet decided what Rena Dourou will do, but neither has Pavlos Polakis, who has been leaving open the possibility of claiming the presidency for the last time. The line of the “Members’ Movement” has been split in two, as Christos Spirtzis wants to change the schedule that has been set and that the election of the president along with the Congress be moved after the self-governing elections that will take place on September 8 and 15. This proposal was made by the former minister at the recent Political Secretariat and he will repeat it in a week from today.

“Ombrela” held a three-day pan-Hellenic conference and approved the candidacy of Euclid Tsakalotos. He did not rule out the possibility of running in the elections, however he has not said the final “yes”. The climate in the internal party opposition is good and they have already made a first assessment of the party’s mistakes that cost it the previous four years. Mr. Tsakalotos during his position in the Parliament emphasized: “they are wrong and we will surprise them because SYRIZA grew out of the needs of Greek society to get out of the crisis, but society still needs a strong left. SYRIZA the next day, all SYRIZA will be here to fight”

The other nomination that seems to be “locked in” is that of Efi Ahtsioglou. The “6+6” movement supports her, while “Umbrella” has only good words to say about the former Minister of Labor. It is said that there are also members of the majority who are waiting to see the political characteristics of her candidacy. Ms. Ahtsioglou has the absolute support of Alexis Haritsis, with whom she has been in common for the last time. She made her mark in the statement she made yesterday in the Parliament. He said that “SYRIZA today is more valuable than ever”. She pointed out that her party will not just exercise the duties of the official opposition but “we will be a force that will oppose a society of low expectations” in order to give society “a left and progressive perspective, a realistic perspective”.

At the beginning of next week, it is expected that the “revealings” will take place and the candidates will express their intentions and present part of their positions before appearing before the Central Committee.
