In his meeting with the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, the Turkish president said on Friday Recep Tayyip Erdogan according to SKAI’s Istanbul correspondent Manolis Kostidis.

“From the point of view of History, our experiences are given, and we do not wish to continue In this way. Mr. Mitsotakis went through new elections, just like us. As two election winning leaders we want to take steps in a positive direction,” Tayyip Erdogan pointed out.

The Turkish president added, however, that “as for me, the main issue I raised with him is about the problems of Western Thrace. We want to overcome these… To overcome the issue with the muftis. And our ambassadors will hold meetings, they will make the preparations as will our foreign ministers, and later the two leaders will meet and take the necessary steps.”

“Turkey and Russia are in ‘same page’ on the extension of the Black Sea grain agreement,” President Erdogan also noted. “We hope that the Black Sea grain agreement will be extended,” the Turkish president said, adding that Russian President Putin is expected to visit Turkey in August
